My new group have decided to use the actors Klauida Kempa and Aidan Broomfield in our music video. we have decided to do this because we believe they would look good and act well together. they also have previously acted in media projects.
'Tennis courts' - Lorde Lip sync
My group are considering making a music video to Lorde's 'Tennis Courts'. So we decided to get our actor Klaudia Kempa to preform a lip sync to it.

BFI trip
On the 25th of November my media class all went to the BFI to for a music video conference to hep us all make our coursework. We learnt about how music videos progressed through the years and how that effected the way we make our music videos now. The conference mainly focused on performance videos, which could be beneficial to my group. It was a good time overall and quite helpful.

Blue Neighbourhood - Troye Sivan
this is an example of narrative videos, like Kodaline's 'All I Want' video, this follows a narrative that goes over 3 video. I thought this was interesting because it shows a progression of the storyline. through 'Talk Me Down' you can see the clear use of Roland Barthes' 'Codes Theory', as the video ends on a cliff hanger.

Permission Request
This is a screenshot of the email our group has sent to the producers of the Arctic Monkeys album our chosen song is from. As well as sending it to Ross Orton, we have also sent it tot the official Arctic monkeys email address.
Mac 1 Lip Syncing
On Monday we attempted to do a Lip Sync to our chosen song. It helped with our editing skills, and showed us how hard it is to line up the shots in time with the song. Therefore we have decided to do mostly narrative instead of lip syncing.
Location Pictures
Today Lucy and I went out to take some research pictures at our location ideas

Kodaline - 'All I Want"
As part of out research we looked at Kodaline's "All I want", which is a narrative video. the music videos have been split into two separate parts, even though both parts have the same song.
'Middle'- DJ Snake ft. Bipolar Sunshine
This video is completely narrative, and like the plan of our video, there is a alternative reality,as the main character is seeing, isn't what is actually happening. In the sense where he believes he has superpowers, there is warm lighting, however in the scenes that aren't his imagination, there is cold lighting.
Snap Out Of It
We chose the song 'Snap out of it' by the Arctic Monkeys as the song we will be doing our music video to. we thought the lyrics fit well with the theme of out music video.
If I Were A Boy - Beyonce
one of the major themes in our video is distorted reality, and role reversal. this is also a major theme in Beyonce's 'If I Were A Boy', in which the female is doing the things traditionally associated with a man.
Team Pitch
In class today, we pitched the idea for put music video, and the class feedback to us, giving us ideas on how to improve the video.

Performance Videos
In lessons we have been looking at different types of music videos, including performance videos. this is where the is no story-line and it is mainly just the musicians preforming their songs.

Narrative Videos
Addicted To You- Avicii
Grenade - Bruno Mars
This music video is a mixture of both performance and narrative. Even though there are clear elements of performance in the Music video, the narrative elements are stronger.
Wild (Blue Neighborhood Trilogy) - Troye Sivan
These music videos are part of a Trilogy that tells a story, each song revealing a different part of the story. the music videos have some elements of performance however they are mainly narrative.
Thriller Video
When it comes to narrative videos, the 'Thriller' music video was a truing point in music videos. this displayed the use of extended narrative videos.

Practice music video
During the summer of this year I did a practice music video to see what it would be like to make a music video
I learnt that music videos take a lot more editing than i anticipated, and u have to plan and have a story board ready before filming. I also learnt that it takes longer to film and edit than i thought.

Favourite A2 Music Videos
I liked this video because of the use of quick editing and the smart story line behind the narrative, which was easy to follow. I also like that it is a mix of both narrative and performance.
I really liked this video, because of the use of a band, as well as the fast pace editing. Furthermore I also liked the use of locations in this video.
